About The Position
NYC Parks is seeking City Seasonal Aides/Security Guards to join the Parks Security Service. These individuals will perform routine patrols of parks, beaches, pools, and related facilities to promote proper use and enjoyment of parks. Responsibilities include advising patrons of park rules and regulations, patrolling parks on foot, greeting patrons, and assisting them whenever possible. There is an opportunity for newly hired staff to take the 8- and 16-hour Security Certificate course, which can aid in obtaining a Security Guard License independently.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass a background check
- Able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shifts
- Good physical condition is required for certain programs.
