City Launcher (Tampa)

Brodie Rec League•Tampa, FL
•$70,000 - $80,000•Onsite

About The Position

As a City Launcher, you will open a Brodie market in a neighborhood you already come from. Your responsibilities include recruiting a minimum of 24 founding captains in your first season, sourcing and validating the venue, filling the gym, and running the launch season. You will be the face of Brodie in your city, present at every game night, open runs, and active in group chats, knowing every player on a first-name basis. This role prioritizes community building, followed by sales and growth marketing. The ideal candidate already knows the local gyms and has existing community connections. This is not a role where you hand off responsibilities; you will validate, prove, and grow the market season over season, potentially adding cities to your territory as your track record improves. You will collaborate with leadership across operations, growth, brand, and people to help build the repeatable launch playbook for future Brodie cities. Before applying, be prepared to answer questions about your neighborhood, local gyms and their contacts, your first ten captains, and to connect us with three people in your market within a week.

Requirements

  • Reside in or directly adjacent to the neighborhood where the market is launching.
  • Possess an existing network within the local basketball community, including coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, tournament organizers, and group-chat admins.
  • Be an active participant in the local basketball culture, currently playing in a rec league or having played recently, attending gyms weekly.
  • Have a strong reputation within your local scene, where your recommendations lead to action.
  • Have the confidence to name your first ten captains and the credibility to engage them.
  • Be comfortable building demand from zero through events, social media, partnerships, and word-of-mouth with minimal budget.
  • Possess strong closing abilities, comfortable asking for venue bookings and deposits, and managing the sales process from initial contact to signature.
  • Be comfortable owning performance metrics, using a CRM, and quickly adopting new tools.
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends, as game nights typically run from 7 PM to midnight.
  • Willingness to travel across your territory as it expands.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running your own run, league, tournament, training group, or community program.
  • Experience managing social media for a local brand, venue, team, or community.
  • Background in sports, events, hospitality, fitness, lifestyle, or entertainment industries.
  • Experience selling partnerships, sponsorships, memberships, or experiential products and services.
  • 3+ years in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth roles.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit a minimum of 24 founding captains per league, starting with your existing network.
  • Enter local gyms/courts (open runs, rec leagues, training sessions, tournaments) where you are already a familiar face and introduce Brodie.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key community influencers such as coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, barbers, group-chat admins, and local business owners.
  • Drive the referral program to make captains and players your primary recruiting channel, and maintain a visible presence in your neighborhood as part of your normal life.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and secure suitable gyms in your neighborhood.
  • Execute the sales sequence: soft close the venue, prove demand, then sign the contract. Leases will not be signed for unproven markets.
  • Own and track performance metrics in CRM (teams signed, fill rate, revenue) to ensure market predictability and escalate issues early if behind target.
  • Build the local demand story from scratch, turning a neighborhood with no awareness of Brodie into a full gym within eight weeks.
  • Manage the location's social media page leading up to launch, growing the following, building anticipation, and creating a local waitlist.
  • Host open runs and live events to convert interest into signed, paid teams.
  • Leverage local distribution channels like trainers with client lists, shops, barbershops, run pages, and popular photographers to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Attend game nights to build genuine relationships with captains, players, families, and spectators, fostering a community atmosphere.
  • Monitor league health during the season (retention, team count, waitlist, feedback) and collaborate with Operations on game-night execution while retaining ownership of growth, revenue, and community.
  • Contribute to building the repeatable launch playbook for all future Brodie cities.
  • Earn the right to expand into adjacent cities as your territory grows.
