The City Engineer is a management position within the Public Works Department and a key member of the Public Works Leadership Team. This position oversees and manages the engineering functions for the Department of Public Works, including but not limited to Development Review, Capital Project Delivery, Stormwater Management, creation and maintenance of standards and guidelines, compliance with Local, State, and Federal requirements, and GIS and asset management support. The City Engineer oversees the Development Review of private development applications and coordinates with other City departments and, as necessary, outside agencies and/or districts to ensure proposed designs are compatible and consistent with City standards, regulations, and applicable laws. The City Engineer oversees the planning, design, construction, and implementation of Capital Projects for the City of Lone Tree Public Works Department and performs complex, professional-level field and office engineering and planning activities related to private development and capital infrastructure projects. The City Engineer oversees the City’s MS4 permitting process and all associated stormwater activities and programs in coordination with the Director of Public Works and Mobility.
