Cisco Network Engineer (Travel & Remote - No C2C)

TEKsystems•Grand Rapids, MI
•$45 - $55•Hybrid

About The Position

TEKsystems' client is seeking a Network Engineer to join its facilities-focused network engineering team. The role focuses on networking in distribution centers rather than the core data center, with a strong emphasis on enterprise Cisco Catalyst routing and switching. The engineer will also interact with Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and Palo Alto firewalls; other teams own the core configuration of these technologies. Palo Alto work involves managing policies rather than configuring the firewalls. The position requires creating standard operating procedures and maintaining strong documentation. It involves travel to different facilities, averaging two trips per month lasting two to four days each. Between trips, the person can work remotely. The preference is for someone based in Michigan who can collaborate in person with the team at the Grand Rapids headquarters. This is a contract-to-hire position and is described as hybrid in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
