About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Voice Circuit Designer for a contract position with a Major Telecommunications Company in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The role involves preparing circuit designs to route SS7, 911, and other TDM circuits from third-party transport to the client's core network. The successful candidate will be a key resource in a major network deployment initiative, working with circuit emulation equipment and IPVPN cloud technologies.

Requirements

Experience in voice circuit design for TDM circuits such as SS7 and 911
Ability to research options in circuit inventory systems like TIRKS
Proficiency in utilizing network diagrams for TDM, Transport, and core networks
Knowledge of network transport technologies including T1, DS3, and OC-level circuits
Experience creating and managing design documentation and work-management tickets

Responsibilities

Research options in internal circuit inventory systems, utilizing network diagrams of the client's TDM, Transport, and core networks
Determine if a connection can be made from the switch or DACS to network equipment in that office or if it needs to ride TDM transport to a neighboring office
Design new T1s where needed
Determine a similar design on the other end with new T1s where needed
Provide the design for the DS0 onto and off the various T1s through the path
Identify the impact on the carrier circuits currently supporting these TDM circuits (if the T1, DS3, OC3, OC12, OC48 carrier can now be disconnected)
Document the design on a spreadsheet
Create internal work-management tickets to send to the team that creates the designs in internal systems
