About The Position

Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC is a sewer maintenance and rehabilitation contractor with over 50 years of experience protecting the environment by working with cities and industries across the Midwest to maintain and increase the efficiency and integrity of their sewer pipes. We help reduce I/I (Inflows / Infiltration) and SSOs (Sanitary Sewer Overflows), minimizing groundwater infiltration and sewer pipe leakage. We specialize in Cured In Place Pipelining (CIPP) for main line sewers, a cost-effective and trenchless method requiring no excavation. Based in Hudson, Iowa, we are dedicated to improving aging infrastructure for an environmentally sound future and invest in team-oriented individuals. This role requires travel throughout the work week and the ability to work overtime. A CDL Class A/B is required, and training is available for those with a CDL permit.

Requirements

  • Experience in trenchless technology/sewer related industry.
  • Experience operating and maintaining Cutter/CCTV equipment for sewers.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces (e.g., Manholes).
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of CUES cameras, tractors, and cutters.
  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Knowledge of IT Pipes.
  • PACP trained.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Knowledge of jet truck operation and understanding of nozzle functions to effectively communicate with the jet operator.
  • CDL Class A/B required (training available with a CDL permit).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain CUES cameras, tractors, and IST cutters to support daily CIPP Crew activities.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
  • Conduct center to center manhole identifications using robotic TV equipment per NASSCO standards.
  • Identify defects and service locations.
  • Accurately fill out reports and turn in daily logs.
  • Ensure deliverables and associated reports are turned in daily.
  • Execute cleaning and TV work required for the project.
  • Distribute notices to residents and businesses as instructed.
  • Adhere to all customer site-specific safety requirements.
  • Robotically reinstate sanitary service laterals.
  • Install liner as needed with the crew.
  • Service, clean, and maintain cutter/camera equipment as well as assigned vehicles.
  • Communicate with the jet operator and TV labor to coordinate workflow.
  • Perform water meter installations.
  • Assemble and disassemble housings and couplings.
  • Utilize all safety equipment and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Report problems to the Superintendent or Safety Director.
  • Perform any other task as directed.
