About The Position

The College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) is seeking a faculty fellow for the academic year 2026-27 (August 2026 to August 2027). This role involves working closely with the Associate Deans for Faculty and Academic Affairs to support ongoing special interest projects and develop new initiatives for the college. The fellow will collaborate with the dean's office, academic departments, and college communications, development, and finance teams. Responsibilities include supporting existing projects like CHS Summer Camps and science communication events, initiating new events to showcase research and teaching, identifying and supporting special interest project opportunities across disciplines, and engaging with community members and partners. The position offers a one-course teaching reduction each semester and a $4,000 summer stipend.

Requirements

  • Tenured and term faculty at the associate professor and professor rank preferred.
  • Faculty at the assistant professor rank will be considered if they possess credentials and experience.
  • Ability to work closely with the dean's office and academic departments.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty across disciplines.
  • Ability to work closely with College communications, development, and finance teams.
  • Submit a current CV.
  • Submit a cover letter detailing experience and qualifications.
  • Submit the name of your Department Chair or School Director plus two additional references.

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing projects such as CHS Summer Camps and science communication events.
  • Initiate and facilitate additional events showcasing research, teaching, and other opportunities unique to the College of Humanities and Sciences.
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to identify and support special interest project opportunities.
  • Work closely with the College communications, development, and finance teams.
  • Engage with community members and partners when necessary.
