About The Position
The Skilled Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealership and factory standards. The role builds Customer loyalty by developing trust and confidence in AutoNation as a caregiver for vehicle safety and reliability. The technician works efficiently and accurately, communicates with Parts and Service teams, diagnoses and repairs authorized malfunctions, and makes recommendations that support vehicle safety and reliability. Certified Technicians are paid up to $60.00 per flat rate hour based on experience level. The role offers factory training, OEM certification support, and opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
- Attention to detail.
- Organization and follow-up skills.
- Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
- Passion for cars and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and Customer communication.
- Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the Customer.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
- Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
- Maintain an inventory of normal Technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
- Achieve targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index results.
