About The Position

This is an hourly opportunity that will work up to 29 hours per week. The offered hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour. Under limited supervision, the Part-Time Chronic Disease Program Coordinator (29 hours per week) will assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community-based chronic disease prevention and health promotion initiatives across Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Counties. The position supports evidence-based strategies focused on obesity prevention, healthy nutrition, physical activity, tobacco use prevention, blood pressure management, and adolescent health. Responsibilities include coordinating health education and outreach activities, developing and maintaining community partnerships, supporting coalition efforts, assisting with trainings and community events, implementing policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) strategies, and supporting communication and health promotion campaigns. The coordinator will collect and report program data, assist with program evaluation activities, prepare required reports, and represent GNR Public Health at selected meetings, trainings, and community events as assigned. The position will provide support for the Healthy Communities Initiative, Tobacco Use Prevention Program, Childhood Obesity initiatives, and selected Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD) activities. AHYD responsibilities may include facilitating evidence-based risk reduction curriculum sessions in assigned middle and high schools and supporting youth health education and outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience & ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a part-time capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working or interning in public health, community health, healthcare, or youth-serving settings.
  • Experience with health education, community outreach, partnership development, coalition building, or youth programming.
  • Knowledge of chronic disease prevention, healthy nutrition, physical activity, obesity prevention, tobacco prevention, blood pressure management, or adolescent health.
  • Experience facilitating trainings, presentations, or educational curricula.
  • Experience collecting, managing, and reporting program data.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Qualtrics, Canva, ArcGIS, or similar tools preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
