The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Chronic Disease Health Educator to join our team. As the Chronic Disease Health Educator, you understand and actively practice our commitment to the Health Seeker by serving, building relationships and connecting with members who struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will be able to create a safe, judgement-free, and encouraging environment that is friendly and non-competitive for participants. If hired for this position, you will conduct engaging, safe, and educational classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. You will deliver curriculum to program participants in effective, meaningful, and compelling ways. You will perform aerobic/fitness moves that demonstrate different intensity levels to meet the various fitness levels of participants. Position Summary Provides program coordination, instruction and motivation for participants in YMCA evidence-based chronic disease behavior change programs, such as the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, YMCA Weight Loss Program, LIVESTRONG at the Y, while maintaining fidelity to evidence-based curriculum. Delivers program in accordance with evidence-based program fidelity and YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Represents the YMCA and self in a professional manner, offering safe and engaging healthy lifestyle practices.
