About The Position

This position is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities, including kettle or angel tree sites. The role also involves picking up and delivering donated items and other supplies. The driver must ensure the safety of passengers and the vehicle, observe traffic laws, log mileage, and fuel vehicles as needed. A polite and friendly demeanor when interacting with the public is essential.

Requirements

• Valid State Driver’s License required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle or any equivalent combination of training and experience
• Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle.
• Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner

Responsibilities

• Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.
• Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items and donated goods, as needed.
• Observes traffic signs and regulations.
• Logs all mileage on standard forms.
• Fuels vehicles in accordance with standards.
