About The Position
This position is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities, including kettle or angel tree sites. The role also involves picking up and delivering donated items and other supplies. The driver must ensure the safety of passengers and the protection of the vehicle, observe traffic regulations, log mileage, and fuel vehicles as needed. The ability to interact politely and friendly with the general public is essential. The work environment may involve physical discomforts due to weather conditions, long distances, or heavy traffic.
Requirements
- Valid State Driver’s License required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle or any equivalent combination of training and experience
Responsibilities
- Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.
- Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items and donated goods, as needed.
- Ensures the safety of passengers and the protection of the vehicle while driving.
- Observes traffic signs and regulations.
- Logs all mileage on standard forms.
- Fuels vehicles in accordance with standards.
