About The Position

The Christmas Assistant/Driver supports The Salvation Army’s seasonal holiday assistance operations, helping make Christmas possible for local families. The assignment runs from November 9 through December 15. The role includes assisting with donation pickups, sorting and preparing gifts, supporting toy distribution, and helping with seasonal warehouse projects. Work may be needed on weekdays, evenings, and weekends throughout the Christmas season. The employee may also serve as a bell ringer when needed and provide general assistance wherever required to support a joyful holiday season.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Good communication skills and team management.
Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
Reliability and ability to work well with a team.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Valid Ohio driver's license.
Experience driving a box truck.

Responsibilities

Support holiday operations on weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed during the Christmas season.
Assist with donation pickups from local collection sites.
Organize and sort donated gifts and packages.
Serve as a bell ringer when needed.
Unload deliveries of holiday donations and gifts.
Sort toys for children and families.
Label gift bags and prepare items for distribution.
Help set up, decorate, and break down the toy warehouse.
Assist with toy distribution and help families receive their Christmas gifts.
Provide assistance on other seasonal projects as needed.
