About The Position

The Chipper/Grinder role at Kennedy Valve involves making molds using sand and patterns, handling a grinder unit, and maneuvering products accurately. The position requires safe operation of equipment and compliance with required safety procedures and gear. It is physical work involving repetitive handling of products, prolonged standing, walking within the work cell, and bending, twisting, and reaching overhead. The work environment may be cold or hot depending on plant activity, outdoor temperatures, and equipment operations. Employees must be available to work either the first or second shift.

Requirements

GED or diploma preferred, or equivalent experience.
Ability to read and write and conduct basic arithmetic.
Ability to tolerate standing for extended periods.
Ability to tolerate safe levels of noise, heat, dust, and cold.
Ability to perform repetitive motions and work.
Ability to lift smaller products weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier products require assisted lifting.
Must be available to work first or second shift.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience in heavy manufacturing is preferred.
GED or diploma is preferred.

Benefits

Starting wages of $30.41 per hour and up, based on position.
Second-shift hourly differential of $0.80.
Longevity pay of $0.10 per hour for every two years worked, capped at $1.20 per hour.
Trainer pay of $1.00 per hour for assigned training.
80 hours of paid sick leave, prorated based on start date; unused leave may be sold back at year end.
