Day shift Chip Yard Operator (12 Hour Schedule)
About The Position
The Chip Yard Operator is primary responsibilities are dumping incoming vendor chip trucks, tracking deliveries on a spread sheet, signing chip tickets ensuring accurately filled out and loading chip bins with the chips from the yard for the plant operation. They will be operating the truck dumps at a control station with a touch screen operation. They will load chips into the chips bins by operating a front-end loader and or a skid steer machine. Secondary duties include keeping the chip yard in a neat and orderly manner by cleaning overflow of chips away from bins and chip piles rotated as needed.
Requirements
- Able to obtain forklift certification (training provided)
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate them when appropriate
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
- Time management skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish preferred
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
- The individual possesses fine hand manipulation (keyboarding) skills.
