About The Position

The Cap Line Single Flue Fabricator position safely performs metal fabrication of a variety of Olympia’s single flue chimney cap products. This role involves working with metal fabrication, machine operations, and packaging, while maintaining a fast-paced team environment. The position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a physically demanding setting.

Requirements

Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, read a tape measure and convert fractions to decimals
Must be able to problem solve, manage time, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Great communication and organizational skills and extreme attention to detail and safety
Basic knowledge of different metals (gauge and welding properties)

Responsibilities

Spot welding and bending and forming of metals
Machine operations to include shears, brakes and shaping machines
Boxing and packaging items
Perform prescribed maintenance as required
Check dimensions for accuracy
Maintain a pace that is acceptable for working with a team on a line
Detect and report defective materials and questionable conditions
May work at different workstations as production needs require
Measure accurately using a tape measure
Gain knowledge of all cap styles, sizes and part numbers
Basic knowledge of different metals (gauge and welding properties)
Set up machine operations including screen bender, screen expander and press operation
Other duties as assigned
