About The Position

The CHILLERS Rehanger position is responsible for hanging birds on a production line, visually inspecting them for defects, and performing other production tasks as assigned. This role operates in a temperature-controlled environment and requires adherence to strict food safety and sanitation standards. The Rehanger plays a critical role in maintaining continuous product flow, ensuring efficiency, and supporting operational flexibility within the fresh plant environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining product flow, relieving team members, filling open positions, assisting with product movement, monitoring work areas, following SOPs, identifying and reporting hazards, and maintaining cleanliness. The role also involves working directly with raw products, adhering to hygiene and PPE requirements, and adapting to changing production needs.

Requirements

Strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Compliance with food safety, quality, and contamination prevention practices.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing line assignments and production priorities.
Must perform other duties as tasked by administration.
Must be safe and observe all of Tyson's policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Rehires are subject to a 91 day wait period, determined from their last date of employment, to be considered for FRESH PLANT.
Candidates that have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson Affiliates 3 or more times will not be eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

From a standing position, pick up and hang birds approx. 3.5-6 pounds by both legs in shackles shoulder height, 16 inches from the body, approx. 5 per minute.
Visually inspect birds for any defects.
Use of both hands and arms required.
Must stand on metal platform for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to tolerate cool environments.
Downgrade birds with defects; place in appropriate containers for further processing.
Maintain continuous product flow on production lines to support efficiency and throughput.
Relieve Team Members on the production line for breaks, lunches, and absences.
Fill in for open positions during labor shortages to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Perform multiple production tasks as assigned, including but not limited to packing, sorting, staging, and material handling.
Assist with product movement between production areas to prevent downtime or congestion.
Monitor work areas to ensure product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are met.
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to fresh product handling.
Assist supervisors by responding quickly to changing production needs.
Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or product concerns immediately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, tools, and equipment.
Comply with all Tyson policies, OSHA regulations, USDA requirements, and food safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.
