About The Position

The Trimmer position plays a critical role in supporting production line efficiency, sanitation standards, food safety compliance, and overall operational flow within the plant. This role ensures the product and production floor remain organized, supplied, safe, and aligned with company and regulatory standards while assisting supervisors and line operators as needed. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining Tyson’s standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. REHIRES ARE SUBJECT TO A 91 DAY WAIT PERIOD, determined from their last date of employment, to apply for FRESH PLANT. CANDIDATES THAT HAVE WORKED FOR TYSON FOODS OR TYSON AFFILIATES 3 OR MORE TIMES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REHIRE. MUST PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS TASKED BY ADMINISTRATION. MUST BE SAFE AND OBSERVE ALL OF TYSONS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in cold, wet, humid, or hot environments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
  • Must comply with all food safety and biosecurity requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior food manufacturing or poultry production experience.
  • Basic understanding of production flow and equipment operation.
  • Forklift certification (if applicable to department).

Responsibilities

  • Trim product to maintain Tyson's high standards of quality.
  • Support production lines by ensuring materials, supplies, and packaging are readily available.
  • Assist with product movement, staging, and line changeovers.
  • Remove finished product, waste, and by-products from designated areas.
  • Maintain proper product rotation and organization.
  • Support rework processes as directed by leadership.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout shift.
  • Remove trash, debris, and excess materials promptly.
  • Follow all USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and food safety requirements.
  • Immediately report product or process deviations to leadership.
  • Assist with pre-operational and operational sanitation tasks.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize required PPE at all times.
  • Maintain safe walkways and clear emergency exits.
  • Report safety concerns or hazards immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and required training.
  • Support supervisors during staffing adjustments and line balancing.
  • Assist with equipment preparation for start-up and shutdown.
  • Ensure floor organization aligns with crewing guide execution.
  • Maintain productivity standards established by the department.
  • Provide backup coverage for line positions as trained.
  • Assist new hires with orientation to line processes as needed.
  • Promote dignity and respect in daily interactions.
  • Support plant initiatives and engagement activities.
