About The Position
The Rehanger is responsible for maintaining a steady supply of birds moving into the Debone department on the Stork cut-up line. This role requires the ability to lift birds weighing 5-6 pounds continuously, push tanks weighing 800-1000 lbs, and keep up with the line speed. The position is in a cold environment (average of 38-60 degrees) and requires standing for the duration of the shift. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn, and the work area is wet, cold, and damp.
Requirements
- Able to lift birds weighing 5-6 pounds continuously.
- Must be able to push tanks weighing 800-1000 lbs.
- Able to keep up with the line speed.
- Able to tolerate cold temperatures (an average of 38-60 degrees).
- Able to perform duties while standing for the duration of shift.
- Able and willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
- Able to work in a wet, cold, and damp area.
- Must provide government identification number for verification of previous Tyson employment history.
- Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times will not be accepted.
- Accepts rehires after 180 days, but Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Grab birds off the conveyor, lift and hang birds by their legs on moving shackles.
- Hang approximately 32 birds per minute.
- Other duties as assigned.
