This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants should be aware that the post will only be offered to successful candidates subject to an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list check(s) as well as other employment clearances.

Requirements

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help.
  • A calm and reliable nature in challenging situations
  • Willingness to complete (fully funded) QCF Level 3 training
  • A true passion for supporting and inspiring children to thrive.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Flexibility to cover shifts

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with young people aged 7–18.
  • Assist with daily routines such as self-care, household tasks, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Participating in school life and leading educational and life skills activities
  • Encourage development through structured activities, education support, and community engagement.
  • Promote independence and choice while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver care plans, track progress, and communicate with families and professionals.
  • Follow a shift pattern (with sleep-ins) plus part-time option (60, 90, or 120 hrs/month)
