About The Position

LAUNCH Connect and Thrive (Children’s Recreation) is based on social emotional and experiential learning. The Children’s Recreation Assistant facilitates preplanned activities for children ages 11–18 who are OPWDD eligible and encourages positive interactions among students in a variety of community settings. The role includes maintaining a safe, positive, and organized environment. LAUNCH’s philosophy is to show children that learning can be a positive experience, and teachers are expected to exemplify that philosophy in the classroom and community.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to integrate multi-age instructional strategies.
• Critical-thinking skills.
• Basic technology and email skills.
• Reading comprehension.
• Effective written and verbal expression.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation necessary to meet program needs.
• Physical ability to supervise and participate in all activities.
