About The Position

To provide safe, Christ-centered childcare during church programming, helping families fully engage in the life and discipleship of Veritas Church. This role involves creating a welcoming, secure, and nurturing environment for children while parents participate in ministry activities. The Childcare Worker will supervise children during adult ministry events, classes, and other church programs, engaging them through age-appropriate play, stories, and activities that reflect biblical truth and kindness. Ensuring the safety and well-being of every child is paramount, along with maintaining appropriate check-in and check-out procedures according to Veritas Church safety and security guidelines. Clear and kind communication with parents, guardians, and ministry leaders is essential, as is helping to maintain a clean and orderly environment. The role requires immediate reporting of any incidents, injuries, or concerns to the supervisor and cooperative work with other childcare team members and volunteers. Attendance at scheduled training and meetings is also expected.

Requirements

Be a member of Veritas Church, or become a member, and actively participate in a Connection Group.

Demonstrate a love for children and a desire to serve families within the church.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and joyful in a fast-paced or unpredictable environment.
Dependable and punctual, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to follow all Veritas safety, health, and child protection policies.
Ability to stand, sit, lift up to 25 lbs, and actively engage with children during play.
Must successfully complete background check and child safety training prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children (paid or volunteer) preferred.
