About The Position

The Childcare Worker is responsible to the Childcare Department Coordinator for guiding and caring for the children in the program. This role involves explaining and enforcing policies, learning appropriate techniques for child development, planning and administering activities, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. The position requires working assigned shifts, including special events, and attending staff meetings.

Requirements

• High school degree
• Experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Explain and enforce Health and Recreation Center policies and procedures when necessary
• Learn appropriate techniques in education, recreation, health, fitness, and safety for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children
• Plan and administer activities for children involved in the childcare program per the directions of the Childcare Department Coordinator
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in compliance with legal obligations required for working with children
• Work assigned shifts including shifts for Fall Festival, Woman's Auxiliary Luncheon, and Bella Ballet Recital
• Attend monthly general staff meetings
• Attend meetings called by the Childcare Department Coordinator
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
