Childcare Teacher and Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Cambria County Child Development Corporation is hiring part-time Child Care Teachers and Assistant Teachers for its centers in Ebensburg, Cresson, and Johnstown. Teachers and Assistant Teachers participate in a cohesive teaching team, assist with curriculum coordination, and help manage day-to-day classroom operations. They structure and implement lesson plans and developmentally appropriate programming and transitions, maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios, and use their understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to support a safe, stimulating classroom where children are actively engaged.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Certificate (GED).
- At least 2 years of experience working with children.
- Must be able to obtain Act 151, Act 34, Act 114, and NSOR Verification clearances; these are paid for by CCCDC.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a cohesive teaching team.
- Assist with coordinating curriculum.
- Help manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
- Structure and implement lesson plans to ensure developmentally appropriate programming and transitional activities.
- Maintain the appropriate child-to-staff ratio.
- Support a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged.
