Childcare Teacher and Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Cambria County Child Development Corporation is hiring part-time Child Care Teachers and Assistant Teachers for centers in Ebensburg, Cresson, and Johnstown. Teachers and Assistant Teachers participate in a cohesive teaching team, assist with curriculum coordination, and help manage day-to-day classroom operations. This includes structuring and implementing lesson plans, providing developmentally appropriate programming and transition activities, and maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios. They must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to help provide a safe, stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children.
- Must be able to obtain Act 151, Act 34, Act 114, and NSOR Verification clearances; these are paid for by CCCDC.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a cohesive teaching team.
- Assist with coordinating the curriculum.
- Help manage day-to-day classroom operations.
- Structure and implement lesson plans to provide developmentally appropriate programming.
- Provide developmentally appropriate transitional activities.
- Maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios.
