About The Position

This part-time position is for an Afternoon Floater in a childcare center located in North Dade. The hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The role involves planning and implementing daily learning activities, nurturing children, managing the classroom environment, and establishing supportive relationships with children and parents. The position also includes implementing developmentally appropriate routines and curriculum for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• One year to complete online the DCF 45 Childcare hours, Part 1 & 2 required
• Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate
• Certificate of good health
• Completed TB test required
• Fingerprints for level 2 criminal background check
• Mandatory drug test

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for children in a center-based setting
• Coordinate use of community resources to enrich the learning environment
• Support program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children
• Enhance the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation
• Oversee and assist with classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily
• Assist children in transitioning beginning and end of each day and during field trips
• Maintain program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries
