About The Position

The Childcare Coordinator role is responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and overseeing childcare workers for weekly small groups on campus. This position requires a strong understanding of the Children’s Ministry department's mission, vision, and values to effectively support the overall goals of Community of Hope. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Model Biblical Priorities and core values of Community of Hope, demonstrating integrity and a growing personal relationship with Christ.
  • Schedule weekly childcare workers for small groups, considering the needs of Discipleship, Recovery, and Youth Ministries, and ensuring safe child-to-worker ratios.
  • Schedule childcare for special events such as Partnership Gatherings, women’s events, and other ministry events.
  • Supervise and oversee childcare workers, ensuring proper procedures are followed and childcare environments meet Community of Hope’s standard of excellence. This includes weekly presence at Monday evening and Wednesday morning childcare, and bi-weekly presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, as well as presence at special events.
  • Facilitate childcare curriculum by preparing and gathering materials, and training childcare workers to use curriculum effectively and engagingly for both COH Kids and Celebration Place (for Recovery).
  • Interview and train new childcare workers, manage applications, conduct interviews, oversee training, and complete onboarding paperwork. Conduct semiannual trainings for all childcare workers.
  • Manage rooms and supplies, communicating needs for snacks, cleaning products, and classroom materials to the Children’s Ministry Department, and ensuring childcare rooms are maintained in excellent condition.
