About The Position

Provide leadership and accountability to the After School department. Reports directly to the Youth Site Director, or Youth Development Director. Deliver a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Perform other departmental duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum age of 18.
Previous experience working with children in a supervisory setting required.
Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

Supervise department Level 1 staff, including corrective action/coaching.
Ensure mandatory training and certifications are complete.
Report staff concerns to the Youth Site Director, or Youth Development Director.
Manage department inventory, supplies and equipment maintenance.
Report all maintenance and cleaning concerns to the Youth Director.
Schedule department staff in accordance with YMCA employment policies, inform supervisor of shift vacancies.
Provide safe supervision to participants and maintain a fun, welcoming environment.
Implement and plan program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values.
Uphold program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
Attend staff meetings and YMCA training as directed.
