About The Position

As the Childcare Attendant, you play a crucial role in ensuring that members and guests have positive experiences. In this position, you are responsible for all children in the daycare, while providing a safe and nurturing environment for children of many ages. We are a small, private childcare facility and our team of caregivers are top notch and fun to work with. The kids here come in a variety of ages and personalities! They will make you laugh, cry, and want to sigh all within a five-minute window - no two hours are the same. You will never know what to expect and need to always be on your toes! You might get paint in your hair and dye on your hands - and probably have fun doing it! If you are someone who can wipe noses and bottoms with a smile, and truly care about kids, we might be the best part time job you have ever had.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Previous experience providing care for children of various ages
  • The ability to pass a criminal background check
  • First Aid and Infant CPR certified (or willing to acquire during employment)
  • Ability to work unassisted at times
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Positive attitude; takes pride in work

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Be available to work Saturdays 8am – noon and some weekday evenings from 3pm – 7pm; schedule flexibility a plus
  • Be ready to spend energy with many children of varied ages
  • Greet every child and parent, assist in getting child settled and involved with others
  • Supervise parent sigh in and out for their children
  • Change diapers, potty train, and feed babies/children as needed
  • Be involved with children, doing art projects and playing games
  • Move around room, assist with children in various areas continually keep toys out of walkways
  • Answer phone and fully complete all requests, such as reservations
  • Keep supervisor informed of inventory, forms needed, and supplies that may be low
  • Report any accidents or illnesses to supervisor for both child and employees
  • Have full understanding of emergency procedures
  • Attend all staff meetings and in-house training
  • Be willing to substitute for other employees on an availability basis
  • Be willing to work beyond usual shift for occasional Junior Program events
  • Monthly billing for all childcare charges
  • Cleaning of workspace
  • Other duties as assigned
