About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher to support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. You will help create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and everyday learning moments, you will help make early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and a collaborative member of the teaching team. This part-time closer role is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare center.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the school-age classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation, including attendance and daily reports.
