About The Position

BGC Okanagan is hiring a part-time Child, Youth, and Adult Counsellor to join our Integrated Family Development Program in Kelowna, BC. In this role, you will provide compassionate, strengths-based support to caregivers and families, helping them build practical skills, strengthen relationships, and access community resources that promote long-term well-being. You will work alongside families to develop and implement individualized service plans that reflect their unique goals and needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human or social services field.
• Two (2) years of recent, related experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with the appropriate liability insurance
• Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes client information through interviews, observation, meetings with caregivers and service providers, and standardized tools to assess needs.
• Develops and delivers counselling plans using therapeutic approaches such as family systems, solution-focused, narrative, and group counselling techniques.
• Provides skill-building in areas including parenting, anger management, and self-regulation.
• Provides case management services and consultation to other service providers.
• Provides information on and refers clients to other community service providers, resources and professionals as required.
• Monitors client progress, provides follow-up, and adjusts plans as needed.
• Evaluates counselling effectiveness, documents progress, and collaborates with therapists, social workers, and other professionals.
• Liaises with and advocates for clients with community agencies and school personnel.
• Maintains related records, statistics, and reports.
