About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, is seeking a Child Welfare Services Technician 1 to provide a broad range of paraprofessional social services to clients and their families under direct supervision. The position is located in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. The role provides information to clients, conducts intakes, and assists staff in delivering social services. It has a designated special entry salary of $35,360.00, which is non-negotiable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of job-related experience in a social services-related position.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in locating and using community resources, including legal, medical, and financial assistance and other referral services.
• Complete client intakes based on interviews with clients, their families, significant others, and appropriate community agencies.
• Maintain contact with social service agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients to exchange information and obtain feedback on clients’ overall progress.
• Organize the delivery of specific social services within the community.
• Prepare intake reports and history records.
