About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, is seeking a Child Welfare Services Technician 1 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. Under direct supervision, this position provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to clients and their families. The role provides information to clients, conducts intakes, and assists staff in delivering social services. The position has a designated special-entry salary that is non-negotiable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of job-related experience in a social services-related position.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in locating and using community resources, including legal, medical, financial assistance, and other referral services.
• Complete client intakes based on interviews with clients, their families, significant others, and appropriate community agencies.
• Maintain contact with social service agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients to provide information and obtain feedback on clients’ overall progress.
• Organize the delivery of specific social services within the community.
• Prepare intake reports and history records.
