About The Position

Apply knowledge of the law, legal procedures, and Title IV-D administrative remedies, as they apply to child support enforcement. Prepare technical case documentation needed for legal action, monitor case, negotiate settlements and expedited agreed orders. Conduct investigations to locate or trace absent parents. Communicate directly with clients, verbally and in written format.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent Child Support experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in full time Child Support Program.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must have knowledge and skills for using a computer for word processing and data entry and retrieval.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors child support cases and takes action or refers delinquent cases for appropriate enforcement action as determined
  • Prepares or supervises the preparation of a variety of documents relating to legal or other actions necessary to enforce a court order for child support
  • Performs complicated case assessment to determine the appropriate subsequent actions
  • Conducts locate and/or skip-trace investigations
  • Documents actions taken in cases by entering information into a complex automated system
  • Responds to inquiries and resolves complaints regarding case status
  • Explains program policies, procedures and regulations to parents via individual interviews
  • Negotiates agreed orders or other voluntary settlements
  • Trains less experienced staff
  • Performs other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required
