CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT SPECIALIST

This role is responsible for performing specialized investigative and child support work, including the establishment of orders and initiation and follow-through of enforcement activities leading to the collection of payments on existing orders. The specialist will manage an assigned client caseload from the initiation of required activities until children reach the legal age of emancipation. This involves interviewing custodial parents, non-custodial parents, employers, other agencies, staff, and the public to gather information from investigation and research used to determine a legal basis for establishing paternity and/or collecting support payments. Additionally, the specialist will assist the Child Support Enforcement Supervisor in training and reviewing Child Support Enforcement Technicians I, respond to public inquiries, and perform the duties of the Child Support Enforcement Technician Supervisors during their absence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Skill in using legal documents
- Skill in preparing correspondence of legal nature and substance
- Skill in applying legal concepts to a specific set of facts
- Skill in training other staff
- Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug test/background check
Responsibilities
