About The Position

This is a specialized Child Protective Services Case Aide position. As a Child Protective Services Case Aide, you will play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of children served by the Office of Child and Family Services – Child Welfare division. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, organizational and computer skills. This position is part of a team dynamic that’s main objective is to assist, inform, and interact with OCFS staff, resource parents and medical providers.

Requirements

  • Training, education, or experience in office and client support work that demonstrates competency in applying a proficient knowledge of the principles and practices in assisting management with policies and procedures
  • Ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and decision-making on complex administrative and direct service activities.
  • Possession of a valid Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with medical records or work in the medical or mental health field.
  • Skilled in the use of standard work-place applications (MS Word, EXCEL, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in gathering health records for children in custody of the Department
  • Reviewing health records, child welfare reports, Health Info Net, and assisting with subsequent data entry, analysis, and uploading to the electronic information system.
  • Tracking and reporting of health records and information gathered
  • Communication and collaboration with medical office personnel and child welfare staff
  • Assisting in tracking, documenting and electronic filing of informed consent forms
  • Tracking and responding to psychotropic medication review requests
  • All other tasks, projects, and duties as assigned
