This position's responsibilities are to set up for and to serve meals, and to clean up serving and kitchen areas. The Child Nutrition Helper may perform various tasks including assisting in food preparation, setting up serving areas, serving meals to students and staff, cleaning and maintaining serving and kitchen areas, and assisting with food handling procedures. Other functions may include moving into a serving cook position, assisting with ordering food and supplies, laundering kitchen linen, performing cashier duties, serving on district committees, and performing related duties. The position requires adherence to strict meal deadlines, anticipation of quantities, and cost efficiency. It involves exposure to heat, potential infectious diseases, cutting equipment, and noise. The role requires standing for prolonged periods, moving heavy supplies, wearing protective clothing, and cleaning meal spills. A pre-placement physical and testing are required.
