We are looking for a temporary/backup cook and a floating teacher. This role involves preparing meals and snacks for children, ensuring they are ready on time and served according to health and safety standards. The position may also require assisting in classrooms when needed. Requirements

  • ServSafe Certification
  • Food Handling Certification or willing to obtain
  • Child Care Background Check
  • Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
  • Cooking: 3 years (Required)
  • Cooking in childcare: 1 year (Required)
  • High School Diploma

Responsibilities

  • Prepares meals and snacks according to approved menu & posted schedule, and distributes food ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Maintains inventory of food; calculates appropriate amounts of food needed, assists with ordering as directed.
  • Properly labels and stores all food items; follows all health and safety related and/or OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintains required records of meal and snacks; maintains master menu, including making approved menu changes when directed and keeping parents informed of menu changes.
  • Prepare meals for children who have dietary restrictions / allergies
  • Performs clean up duties after meals and snacks including food clean-up, washing/sanitizing dishes, utensils, and cookware.
  • Performs routine kitchen related maintenance and notifies Director about maintenance needed if not performed.
  • Interacts with children, and families, being friendly and supportive, following company procedures and state guidelines on the supervision of children.
  • Reports suspected abuse or neglect as mandated by state regulations.
  • Attends all staff meetings, training sessions, meetings and programs as requested by the Director.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Director
  • May assist in classrooms as needed.
