About The Position

Mentoring Alliance is seeking ministry-minded individuals to join its After School team in Tyler, Texas. The Child Care Worker fosters youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities and serving as a positive role model. The organization describes this position as first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel and an integral part of its mission to mobilize godly people into the lives of children and families, providing tangible help and eternal hope.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17–20 hours per week during the school calendar year. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mentoring Alliance provides after-school care and activities for children and students in the community.

Requirements

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
• Be able to earn mandatory CPR/First Aid certification.
• Pass a mandatory background and sex offender check.
• Have a valid driver's license or valid ID.
• Be legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Have dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; preferred.
• Some post-secondary training; highly preferred.
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children; preferred.
• Spanish-speaking ability; greatly valued.
