About The Position

Mentoring Alliance is seeking a ministry-minded, part-time Child Care Worker for its After School team in Longview, Texas. The primary role is to foster youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. The position averages 17–20 hours per week and is non-exempt, working during the school calendar year. The organization describes the role as first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel and seeks someone devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and helping children reach their full potential. Team members serve and develop children and families through after-school care and activities, supporting Mentoring Alliance’s mission to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families and provide tangible help and eternal hope.

Requirements

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the school calendar year.
• Be able to earn CPR/First Aid certification; certification is mandatory.
• Pass the mandatory background and sex offender check.
• Have a valid driver’s license or valid ID.
• Be legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Have dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Some post-secondary training is highly preferred.
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.
• Spanish-speaking ability is greatly valued.
