About The Position

Family Day Care Services in partnership with Service Canada is pleased to offer Canada Summer Job opportunities in Toronto Region Family Day is seeking Child Care Worker Assistant to work collaboratively with our Early Childhood Educators, Program Facilitators and Assistant Teachers. The Child Care Worker Assistant will support age-appropriate programs and activities in early learning and development environments for children up to 12 years of age. About Family Day: Family Day Care Services is a non-profit, charitable organization with a long and distinguished history of providing high-quality early learning and child care services to children and families throughout Toronto, York and Peel Regions. We are a multi service organization with over 500 employees, providing a broad range of services including: 29 Child Care Centres, 49 Before and After Care programs, 204 Licensed Home Child Cares, 9 EarlyON programs, 2 Homework Plus programs, and Special Needs Resourcing for children and their families living in the Greater Toronto Area. Candidates must fulfill the following requirements: Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Requirements

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support appropriate programs and activities in an Early Learning and Development environment for children aged 0 to 12 in a group setting.
  • Support the Educator with job activities that will include planning, developing and implementing programs that reflect children’s interest and include opportunities for quiet and active play, indoor and outdoor activities and individual as well as group activities.
  • Assist the educator in the event that individual program plans may need to be created for children with special needs.
