About The Position

Primrose School of Schertz is hiring one part-time Child Care Teacher for the closing shift. The school is located at 4993 Schertz Pkwy, Schertz, TX 78154. Teachers work with children in an environment supported by fully stocked classrooms and a Leadership Team focused on creating a safe, healthy, and supportive culture. The school follows teacher-to-student ratios aligned with national and state accreditation requirements: 2:8 for infants, 2:12 for toddlers, 2:16 for two-year-olds, and 2:26 for three-year-olds, four-year-olds, and school-age children. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends. Pay is $13.50. The school provides tools and training to help teachers succeed. Each Primrose school is independently owned and operated, and its Franchise Owner is the employer and determines wage and benefit programs, which may vary.

Requirements

Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with handling children, facilitating programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.

Responsibilities

Support children’s learning and development in a child care classroom.
Help maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and team members.
Handle children as needed to facilitate programs, ensure child safety, and respond to potential emergencies.
For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
