About The Position

Create an environment in a classroom setting that supports children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences. Conduct continuous developmental evaluations and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Communicate and interact regularly with parents and staff to facilitate each child’s learning and growth.

Requirements

• An associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field is required.
• If the incumbent does not have an educational degree, a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
• If the incumbent has neither an educational degree nor CDA certification, they must have either 1,500 verified clock hours of experience in organized group activities for young children, supported by a positive reference from a former employer or supervisor, or a written plan approved by the Department to obtain at least three credit hours or 45 clock hours of relevant training within six months. The licensee must maintain copies of the plan and Department approval for Department review.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in child care and instruction and/or supervisory responsibilities is preferred.
