About The Position

New Frontiers Preschool is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Teacher to join our nature-based preschool team in Grafton, Wisconsin. NFP serves young children in a warm, joyful, active, and developmentally appropriate environment. Our program blends child-led exploration, play-based learning, school-readiness skills, social-emotional development, and daily outdoor/nature experiences. We are looking for teachers who are calm, dependable, professional, active, and genuinely engaged with children. This is not a passive supervision role. Our teachers are on the floor, outside, in conversation, helping children build skills, supporting routines, guiding behavior, and creating meaningful learning experiences throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be willing and able to complete all required child care staff documentation and trainings, including background check eligibility, staff health documentation, CPR/AED, abusive head trauma training, mandated reporter training, orientation, and continuing education requirements.
  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, and move throughout the day.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds when needed.
  • Assist children with self-care routines.
  • Walk on playgrounds, trails, uneven outdoor surfaces, and inclines.
  • Participate in outdoor learning and play in a range of Wisconsin weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons, activities, and classroom routines.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and self-care development.
  • Incorporate nature, outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, art, music, literacy, movement, science, and play into the classroom experience.
  • Actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
  • Help children with meals, rest time, toileting, diapering, dressing, transitions, and daily routines.
  • Use positive guidance, redirection, calm communication, and developmentally appropriate expectations.
  • Communicate professionally with families during drop-off, pick-up, and approved written communication channels.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with co-teachers, directors, and support staff.
  • Follow NFP policies, Wisconsin child care licensing requirements, and required health/safety procedures.
