About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring a Floater Teacher in Thompson's Station. The role involves working with children in a welcoming, inclusive team environment and supporting their learning through a play-based curriculum that introduces them to the world beyond their community. The academy offers on-the-job training and opportunities for career development, including advancement from Lead Teacher to Center Director. The listed shift is 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will and may be terminated at any time, with or without cause.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Floater Teacher experience is required.
Ability to stand for six to eight hours daily and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Ability to visually supervise children at all times.
Successful completion of a background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Early Childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree.
At least six months of experience working in childcare, daycare, or preschool.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement activities using the play-based curriculum to teach developmentally appropriate skills and concepts.
Develop rapport with families daily.
Use electronic daily reports to share milestones captured throughout the day.
Follow enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
