About The Position
Little Dreamers Academy is seeking a fun, energetic Cook to prepare delicious, nutritious meals and snacks for children. The role involves planning and following weekly menus, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, monitoring inventory, following food safety requirements, accommodating dietary needs, and coordinating meal times with classroom schedules. The position is at Little Dreamers Academy in Clarksville, Tennessee. Pay is $12.00–$14.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, institutional cooking, or childcare food preparation is preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and complete training as required for childcare environments.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper storage practices.
- Warm, nurturing demeanor and a genuine passion for working around children.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children daily.
- Plan and follow weekly menus in accordance with childcare nutritional guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow food safety, handling, and storage regulations.
- Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional needs.
