About The Position

The Learning Experience – Banning Lewis Ranch is seeking an experienced Child Care Center Director to lead its early education center in Colorado Springs. The Director leads daily operations of a licensed center serving infants through preschool and helps create a positive, professional, and collaborative school culture. The role balances people leadership, curriculum, operations, compliance, and family engagement while supporting children, families, and employees. The Director oversees staffing, scheduling, labor, records, reporting, administrative systems, and operational priorities. They recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and retain qualified staff; conduct classroom observations and performance evaluations; and support employee development through training, mentoring, feedback, and accountability. The role also leads center tours, enrollment follow-up, and family retention efforts, and builds positive relationships with current and prospective families. The Director supports implementation of The Learning Experience’s L.E.A.P.® Curriculum, ensures engaging and developmentally appropriate classroom experiences, conducts health and safety walkthroughs, and maintains compliance with Colorado childcare licensing requirements and organizational standards. The position requires meeting Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and applicable PDIS requirements.

Requirements

10+ years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education program.
Must meet Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and applicable PDIS requirements.
Required Early Childhood Education coursework and qualifying supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing requirements.
Effective organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Comfortable using technology and data to manage operations and performance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience as a Center Director, School Director, Preschool Director, or senior Assistant Director.
Experience with enrollment growth, accreditation, quality improvement, employee retention, and family satisfaction.

Maintain accurate employee files, child files, training records, and licensing documentation.
Address health, safety, supervision, and compliance concerns promptly.
Support enrollment growth and the success of children, families, and employees.
