Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also called a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The Cook creates home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff; and distributes food to classrooms. The role follows the daily menu provided by the Director, which incorporates USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations. The Cook maintains food and supply inventory and orders items as needed, and assists in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater. Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
