About The Position

The Child Care Center Cook, also called the Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role includes adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The cook creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff and distributes food to classrooms; follows the daily menu provided by the Director and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; maintains food and supply inventory and orders supplies as needed; and assists in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when needed. The position offers a Monday through Friday work week. Compensation depends on position, education, and experience. The listed Food Specialist pay range is $18.28–$18.99.
