About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also called a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The cook creates home-style, nutritious meals within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares and distributes meals and snacks for children and staff; follows the Director’s daily menu and relevant USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; and maintains food and supply inventory, ordering additional items as needed. The role may also assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater. Learning Care Group describes its childcare programs as serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years and emphasizes research-based curriculum, safe and nurturing environments, and support for children’s development and school readiness.

- Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
Responsibilities
